Whenever a mechanical seal fails it is important to talk to people who understand both the product and available replacements. The sealing takes place between the static and rotating faces and damage to either renders the seal unusable. In many such cases it is possible to have them lapped to regain the flatness required for sealing. For easy identification e-mail photographs and discussion with our technical staff often provides us with sufficient information.
